Transfermóvil
Transfermóvil is the Cuban government's primary mobile payment application, developed by ETECSA (the state telecommunications company). It links directly to accounts at state banks (Banco Metropolitano, BPA, Bandec) and is used for paying utility bills, mobile top-ups, basic government service payments, and domestic bank-to-bank transfers. With 5 million users and over 110 million transactions monthly, it is by far the most widely used digital payment tool in Cuba.
Tarjeta Magnética (Domestic Bank Cards)
Cuban state banks issue domestic debit cards (Tarjeta Magnética) linked to CUP accounts. These cards can be used at Cuban ATMs and at merchants equipped with domestic POS terminals. They function entirely within the closed Cuban banking infrastructure and cannot be used internationally.
EnZona
EnZona is a Cuban digital wallet and domestic e-commerce platform with over 1 million registered users. It functions similarly to a closed PayPal ecosystem, enabling peer-to-peer payments, merchant payments, and access to state-sanctioned online stores. EnZona uses QR codes for point-of-sale transactions and aims to unify all Cuban electronic commerce under two user categories: Clients and Businesses.
